Rotary Club of Biloxi Recognized by Harrison County Sheriff

Harrison County Sheriff, Melvin Brisolara recently addressed the Rotary Club of Biloxi.  Sheriff Brisolara discussed current issues facing his department including overcrowding concerns at the jail and efforts to bring back the inmate work center.  While visiting the club, the Sheriff recognized the Rotary Club of Biloxi’s work with the popular Kids ID program by presenting the club with a plaque.  The Biloxi Rotary Club under the leadership of Dean Shankland, has been partnering with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department for 11 years to provide Kids IDs to local families.  These ID packets provide a parent one convenient location to store vital information on each of his/her children.  Commonly stored in the Kids ID packets are hair samples, fingerprints, current photo and a physical description.  In the case of a missing child, a parent can quickly provide the Kids ID packet to the authorities to use as an aid in their search.

The Rotary Club of Biloxi, chartered on Aug. 5,1921, meets every Tuesday at noon at Mary Mahoney’s Old French House Restaurant.
